A Safety Razor uses the traditional square razor blades which have one blade that is sharp on both sides. During the actual shaving, there is thus only one blade that runs over the skin - If you do it correctly in the first place, the Safety Razor does not need to be pulled over the same place several times. Many users who have previously used a multi-blade razor and had major problems with red bumps, beard plague and irritated skin find that switching to a Safety Razor has minimized irritation and redness after shaving. A Safety Razor is more gentle on the skin and has a sharper edge.
