Strops & Hone
When you buy a straight razor, it is sanded by the manufacturer. However, this is not a guarantee that it is 100% "shave-ready" and we therefore always recommend that you familiarize yourself with how to strop a razor so that you are able to strap and maintain it.
A leather strop is a tool you must use to keep your razor sharp and clean, so you are always guaranteed the best and closest possible shave.
We have two types of leather strops: Paddle and Hanging. The paddle has a handle, is easy to use and does not require much space. The hanging strap, on the other hand, is equipped with a loop at the end so that it can be fastened while strapping. It is the most effective strop and also the completely original version, which is synonymous with a classic old school shave.
Over time, it may also be necessary to buy a strop paste / stropping paste / abrasive paste for your leather strop. We have stropping paste in different varieties. Some are equipped with small diamond particles, which give your straight razor an ultra fine grinding, while others give a coarser grinding of your razor. Note, however: Once you have applied your abrasive paste to the leather strap, there is no going back. Going forward, your leather strap will be more more aggressive. You will also find caring balm for your leather strap, so you can freshen it up and thus ensure a better and gentler cleaning and sanding.
