Can you recycle razor blades?
Unfortunately, modern razor blades and disposable razors still consist of an inseparable combination of plastic and metal, which means they must always be disposed of in general or household waste. Recycling is usually not an option here.
The situation is different with double-edged razor blades (DE blades) made of stainless steel. This valuable raw material can be recycled relatively easily – you just need to know how. The general rule of thumb is as follows: razor blades should never be placed in recycling containers or bags. Therefore, we recommend collecting the blades and delivering them to a recycling center or scrap metal dealer near you. In some regions, there are also special recycling bins for metal where the blades, collected in a sealed container, can be disposed of.
Additionally, selected pharmacies, zero-waste stores, and organic food shops offer you the option to drop off the blades you’ve collected.
