When you buy a Safety razor you can choose to buy one with open or closed comb. What you choose is a matter of taste and depends on the beard growth and skin type of the face.

This print head from Mühle allows you to get an open comb for your existing closed comb razor. This means that you can now switch between using an open and closed comb as needed, without having two different razors lying in the bathroom.

As the teeth in the comb are open in an open comb razor, the blade can get a little closer to the stumps. Especially with longer beards and multi-day stumps, it lets the beard hair come in between the comb so you can more easily achieve a close shave these days.
