The essence has intriguing notes of orange blossom and soft spicy notes of carnation, which contrasts with a green lily of the valley that gives an evocative, intense scent of Stephanoti's bloom. The floral heart, maintained by jasmine and coriander, leads to the base which has notes of sandalwood and musk.

Stephanotis dates back to the earlier days of Floris. It was originally composed in 1796 by James Floris, son of the founder, Juan Famenias Floris. The scent is a picture of the many community weddings that took place in the local area of ??St. James. Stephanotis means happiness in marriage.
