This open comb base plate is made for those who want to upgrade their Masamune-Shaver for a slightly more aggressive shave. With a blade exposure of -0.10 mm and a blade gap of 0.73 mm, you get a more efficient cutting performance, which is especially suitable for dense or coarse beard growth.

The open comb makes it easier for beard debris and shaving foam to pass through during shaving, resulting in a more direct contact between blade and skin. This results in a closer and more thorough shave without sacrificing comfort.

The base plate is CNC-machined in AISI 303 stainless steel and has a beautiful dark finish that matches perfectly with the other Tatara parts in the same color. For a lighter style, it is also available in a variant with a matte finish.
