With their Leaf Razor, the American company LEAF Shave has created a Razor that’s a hybrid between the well-known multi-blade razors and the classic Safety Razors. It’s a razor that can be used by both men and women, making it excellent whether you’re shaving facial hair, body hair, or your head.

The Leaf Razor features a flexible head that contours to the face, body, or scalp.
The razor uses classic half blades—that is, half-sized Doube Edge Blade Razor Blades. This makes it extremely economical to use, and you can replace the blades whenever needed with a clear conscience.

The Leaf Razor can be used with either 2 or 3 blades inserted, depending on your preference.

In addition to the Leaf Razor, Leaf also manufactures a Razor designed for use with a single half blade; This razor comes in two versions: The Twig, which is the standard, gentle version for sensitive skin (medium aggressiveness), and The Thorn, which provides a slightly closer shave due to an additional 0.2 mm of clearance between the blade and the base plate (medium+).

How hard do you have to press with a Leaf Razor?

The Leaf and The Twig scrapers are heavier than the plastic and disposable scrapers you are probably familiar with.
You therefore do not need to press hard when shaving. Just let the weight of the scraper do the work for you as the scraper head glides over your skin.
With a light pressure, you go a long way to get a smooth and close shave without irritation.
You must pay particular attention around bony areas such as knees and scalp - Let the weight of the scraper do the work.

At what angle should a Twig be held?

For Razors with a fixed head like The Twig and The Thorn one important thing applies; find and keep the same angle when you shave.
With The Twig and The Thorn, this angle is approx. 30 degrees on the skin.
Here you will feel how the blade takes hold and Razor the hairs off completely unbothered.

It sounds advanced, but once you've tried using the scraper, you won't have any doubts at all. Short strokes help you maintain the right angle at first. Once you are comfortable with the scraper, you can easily make long strokes.

How many leaves should be used in The Leaf?

With all 3 blades fitted you get the closest shave.
If you find this too aggressive, remove the bottom (lowest) blade and just shave with the middle and top blades as this will be a gentler setting.
You can also start with the mild setting until you get used to the scraper.

How to maintain a Leaf Razor?

If you want to enjoy your Leaf Razor the next several years, it is a good idea to keep it straight.
Open the scraper and rinse it thoroughly after each shave. Feel free to take the leaves out, rinse them and dry them before putting them back in the scraper. If you do this, you will also extend the life of the leaves.
