Crush the problem of cuts and tears!

Wounds and small tears after shaving can be annoying, but with the right approach and good habits you can both prevent and deal with the accidents effectively. Here we guide you on how to avoid minor damage and keep your skin healthy and well cared for.

1. Start with the right equipment

A safe and comfortable shave starts with the right tool. The most important thing is to use a sharp razor blade. Dull blades can pull on the hairs and require more pressure, increasing the risk of minor cuts and tears. Therefore, change the blade regularly, especially if you notice resistance during shaving. Heat the blade under hot water to improve glide and make the shave more gentle.

2. The technique makes the difference

When shaving, it's important to let the weight of the shaver do the work. Avoid pressing hard against the skin – too much pressure can lead to tears and irritation. Hold the scraper at an angle of approx. 30 degrees and shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize resistance. If you want a closer shave, you can take an extra stroke, but be careful and apply more shaving cream or foam between each stroke.

3. Use plenty of lubrication

To protect the skin during shaving, you must always use a good layer of shaving cream, shaving foam or shaving soap. These products reduce the friction between the razor blade and the skin, reducing the risk of tears. If you feel resistance, it may be a sign that more product is needed.

4. If the accident is out

Even if you take all precautions, small accidents can happen. If you do get a tear, there are some simple steps you can follow to quickly stop the bleeding and avoid further irritation:

- Rinse with cold water: Start by rinsing the skin with cold water. It helps close the pores and reduce bleeding.
- Use an alum block or a hemostatic fluid: Alum blocks are particularly effective in stopping bleeding from small tears. They tighten the skin and disinfect the area, so it heals faster. Alternatively, you can use a liquid with a little alcohol to disinfect and close the wound.
- Avoid toilet paper: Resist the temptation to use toilet paper or a towel as this can further irritate the skin and create more bacteria on the wound.

5. Care after shaving

To ensure that the skin heals quickly and remains healthy, you should finish your shaving routine with a good aftershave or moisturizer. Choose an alcohol-free aftershave to avoid unnecessary irritation. Products with soothing ingredients such as aloe vera or panthenol can help reduce redness and support skin regeneration.

Prevent future tears
By incorporating these steps into your shaving routine, you can minimize the risk of minor cuts and irritation. Remember that:

- Wash the skin thoroughly before shaving to remove dirt and bacteria.
- Use a sharp razor blade and make sure your scraper is in good condition.
- Apply plenty of shaving cream or foam to protect the skin.
- Rinse the skin with cold water after shaving and apply a soothing aftershave.

With the right technique and the right products, shaving becomes a pleasant and problem-free experience - every time!
