Full beard - Why?
In the past, men wanted a clean-shaven look without stubble on their face, but fashion and times have changed and many now want a big, full beard that oozes masculinity. Not everyone is naturally able to grow a luscious, lush beard. If you're one of the lucky ones with a full facial beard, the tips below will help you on your way.
Growing a full beard requires commitment and patience first and foremost. Next, the most important thing to optimize beard growth is grooming.

Don't shave your beard
Let your beard grow - Take a break from your Razor and sleep a little longer in the morning instead.
As a rule of thumb, you shouldn't have to do much to your beard for the first 8 weeks. However, it's a good idea to trim it a little at the sides if there are any hairs that are starting to stand out.
There are no set rules for how a full beard should be shaped, but most people can agree that a neck beard is not a good look. We would therefore recommend trimming the beard on the neck.
Imagine a line going from each ear down to a point on your neck, two finger widths above your Adam's apple - this is where the line for the beard should go. Use a Razor to make a marked line. As the beard grows longer, you can continue to maintain this line with the Razor. Others prefer to make a soft transition from neck to beard with a Trimmer.

Wash your beard with a Beard Wash
Your beard deserves at least as much care as the hair on your head.
By washing it regularly with a conditioning Beard Wash that is specifically formulated for both beard and facial skin, you ensure that your beard is effectively cleansed without drying out or irritating the skin.
A good Beard Wash removes dirt, excess oil, pollution and food residue that a beard naturally collects throughout the day. The result is a clean, fresh and well-groomed beard that looks and feels healthier.

Use a Beard Balm or oil to relieve itching
It's normal for the skin under your beard to itch quite a bit at first as your stubble approaches 1-2 centimeters in length. Make sure to use a Beard Balm or Beard Oil and apply the product to your face so that both the beard and the skin underneath get a workout.
A Beard Balm or Beard Oil reduces discomfort, redness and irritation by softening your stubble and soothing the skin underneath. At Proshave, we have a large selection of high-quality Beard Balm and Beard Oil.

Use a Face Scrub
It's a great idea to use a Face Scrub once a week to remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood circulation and hair growth.
When the skin is deeply cleansed, beard hairs can grow more freely and the risk of ingrown hairs is reduced.
The result is a healthier, denser and more well-groomed beard that looks and feels significantly softer.

Trimmer your stubble
If you want a full beard, it's important not to just let it grow wild. It needs to be Trimmered to keep it neat and tidy, so it can be just as much work as if you're completely clean-shaven on your face.
Use a Trimmer or Scissors to adjust the edges and length to keep the beard sharp and under control.

Use a beard brush or comb
A beard comb or beard brush is a must for those who want a full beard.
A comb/brush removes dust, dirt and excess product, leaving the beard smooth, even and shiny without tangles. Regular brushing is also great for the skin and prevents a dry beard.
It's optimal to use your brush or comb after applying your Beard Oil or Beard Balm.

Style with a Beard Wax
Use a Beard Wax to shape, style and control your full beard.
The wax provides a solid, flexible hold, adds a pleasant scent and ensures the beard keeps its shape all day - without feeling stiff or greasy.
Simply warm a small amount of wax between your fingertips to make it soft and easy to distribute, then work it into the beard just like you would with hair wax. For a well-groomed, defined and professional look.
