The Coticule stone is formed from gray-yellow volcanic ash and clay and contains between 30 and 42% garnet crystals. These crystals have a unique geometric shape that allows for extremely fine and fast grinding - without leaving microscopic burrs or scratches on the blade. The result? A blade so sharp that you can shave with precision and comfort - without skin irritation.

The stone's abrasiveness is roughly equivalent to a 4,000-8,000 grit synthetic stone according to the Japanese grit system, but because it is natural, it gives a much smoother and more comfortable result.
