When you buy a straight razor, it is sharpened by the manufacturer. However, this is no guarantee that it is 100% shave-ready and we always recommend that you familiarize yourself with how to strap a razor so you are able to strap and maintain it.

A leather strap is a tool you need to use to keep your razor sharp and clean, so you are always guaranteed the best and closest shave possible.

We have two types of leather straps: Paddle and Hanging. The Paddle has a handle, is easy to use and does not require much space. The Hanging strap, on the other hand, is equipped with a loop at the end so it can be secured while strapping. It is the most effective strap and also the original version, which is synonymous with a classic old school shave.

Over time, it may also be necessary to buy a strap paste / strapping paste / abrasive paste for your leather strap. We have strapping paste in different variants. Some are equipped with small diamond particles that give your straight razor an ultra-fine sharpening, while others give your razor a coarser sharpening. However, please note: Once you've applied your sharpening paste to the leather strap, there's no going back. Going forward, your leather strap will become more aggressive. You can also find conditioning balm for your leather strap to freshen it up and ensure a better and gentler cleaning and sharpening.
