What is a pomade?
A pomade is the perfect styling product for those who want a beautiful, shiny hairstyle. A pomade creates a classic, shiny wet look and is also characterized by the fact that it does not dry out the hair. A pomade is especially good for those with long and medium length hair.
How to use a pomade
It is beneficial to apply a pomade to damp hair (but not wet). Take a shower, dry your hair as usual and apply the pomade before your hair is completely dry. Alternatively, you can wet your hair under the sink and dry it with a towel.
In our experience, a pomade is much easier to work with in damp hair than in dry hair. Of course, there are some who disagree and think the best results come when the hair is dry. Feel free to experiment and see what works for you.
When you're ready to start styling, first apply an appropriate amount of pomade to your hand. Unlike a wax, don't just apply it to your fingertips, but to the entire palm of your hand. How much you need depends on the thickness and texture of your hair. Thick, curly hair will typically use more product than fine, thin hair. The more pomade you apply, the more 'Grease' look you will achieve.
Of course, you have a lot of options when it comes to styling. Many finish by running a comb through their hair, while others prefer to use their hands. When using a pomade, you can style your hair side-parted, slicked back or a classic rock'n roll pompadour with tons of volume.
